Hi there!

How was your week? I've been pretty busy getting ready for the Xmas offer I have for my weekly clases in Camden Town, London.

This week's video tutorial is about a movement that drive crazy many of my students: chest lifts and isolations.
Keep on reading cause I'm going to explain you why it is that difficult to do this movement.
Well, in my opinion one of the most amazing things about bellydance are the isolated movements. I love to see how bellydancers can detach and separate different parts of their body and later on move all of them harmoniously.

The chest lift and chest isolation it's that difficult because we only have one spine.

Let me explain it in an easier way. This movement requires that we lift our chests, moving only the upper spine and keeping the low back still at the same time.

As I usually say in Spanish, "chest up like a cock but no chicken butt". Omg, I just hope that this sentence makes sense and doesn't sound very bad in English, you know I'm far from speaking a good English.

After watching the video, please, let me know in the comments how did you find it.
If you have any question you can also drop me a line with it in the comments. I read all of them and reply to most of the comments, sometimes I even record new tutorials according to your questions.

Your comments are the fuel of DancePandemic, let's keep on moving

Thanks a lot for reading, watching and enjoying the belly dance.

A smile and a shimmy,

Zahida.

ps. Remember that the free class included in my Xmas offer for London weekly classes is available until December the 22nd.

Hi Fiscella,
Thanks a lot for your comment. In the case that you mention, a small vreast person, I'd recommend to focus on your body feelings, on how do you feel the movement inside your body instead of focusing on the external appearance.
In my opinion dance is more what you feel than what you see.
And please, please, be very gentle with your body and don't push your body beyond any limit. Pain is never a good signal.
Keep in dancing ?
Zahida
